Always, always, always have a backup lighter. Even the best ones run out of juice at the worst times. I write this because I'm sitting here with a tasting cigar and an empty lighter.

Just smoked a La Aroma de Cuba Noblesse Viceroy at Ashton Cigars HQ in Philadelphia with Sathya Levin. Tasty smoke rolled by the Garcia family in Nicaragua.

Lobster rolls at the beach. Cold rose. Warm breeze. Sunny skies.

Heck of a cigar night. Started with a Davidoff Haut-Brion from Cuba (40 or so years old) followed by a Cohiba Talisman from 2017.

Had a productive tasting day, reviewed several cigars for the magazine. Now I’m relaxing after dinner with a small glass of E. Leon Jimenes Rum from the folks at La Aurora. This is one of the best rums I’ve ever had. Lovely.

Took the family to see the new #SupermanMovie. Everyone loved it. Nice job James Gunn .

This weekend I volunteered to help out in a local charity, which kept a bunch of us busy for several hours. Afterward, we rewarded ourselves with some fine cigars, specifically these Montecristo Diamantés. cigaraficionado.com/ratings/24991/…

Busy day! Edited some stories for the web and for print, reviewed two flights of Tequila for Whisky Advocate, edited one of our videos that will be posted soon. What did I forget….I need a cigar!!!

At the Angels/Mets game at Citi Field. Great night for a ball game. The music guy at the stadium has played a ton of Ozzy and Black Sabbath tunes out of respect for the passing of Osborne today.
