At #NewfordDemo, feeding cattle the correct diet in the weeks prior to finishing is an important aspect to achieving the optimium carcass specifications. This short video explains more on how this is achieved with a mixture of DMD Silage and Crude Protein finishing ration.🐄

At Tipperary Demo Farm, it has been a busy few months with the arrival of 270+ calves over 5 intakes to the farm. Last week, 45 calves arrived from 4 source farms. These calves received 2L/head of electrolytes on arrival followed by 1L/head of milk replacer. #TipperaryDemo

At #NewfordDemo, this weeks weather has provided a great opportunity to make our first cut silage, this is part of a multi-cut system for our finishing unit. ☀️🚜🐮

This week at #tipperarydemo 11 acres was reseeded The ground was power harrowed,drilled and rolled and there was no plough used There is currently 102 acres closed for first cut silage with 60 units of 38% protected urea gone out in early April across the whole farm #tippdemofarm

First lot of calves weaned 🥳 49 calves - Average weight 92kg, ADG since arrival 0.77kg/day, average age - 79 days. The average CBV of this group is €98😎These will be left settle for the weekend before being turned out to grass Monday 💪#TippDemoFarm
