Fantastic paper by Shane Grey and Chris Goodnow on how A20 tunes immunity. A20 is mutated in some patients with Behcet's which is endemic along the ancient Silk Road. Is the price of immunity a predisposition to autoimmunity? Garvan Institute of Medical Research Nature Immunology rdcu.be/bRqcC

Rare genetic disease diagnosis doesn’t only help patients and their families – it benefits the wider population too. Stuart Tangye and The Clinical Immunogenomics Research Consortium are delving into DNA to reveal these incredibly uncommon genetic variants medicalresearch.nsw.gov.au/how-rare-disea

First data from the IUIS IEI/PID c'ttee on COVID19 in PID pts are in. thanks to Isabelle Meyts for summarising ‱ 6 cases reported in PID patients to 22/03, none severe, 3 needing admission. ‱ 1 patient co-infected with another Coronavirus (CoV229E).

Primary immune deficiency is caused by genetic mutations that lead to immune dysfunction and subsequent susceptibility to infection. Elissa Deenick Garvan Institute of Medical Research et al review the mechanisms underlying defective antibody responses in #PID. #immunology onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/im

Congrats Elissa Deenick and JĂșlia Bier from Garvan Institute of Medical Research cool review describing a new mechanism of autoantibody production by extrafollicular plasmablasts that bypass GC negative selection in PID patients with PI3K GOF. Relevance to AIHA/ITP? onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/im

In our latest paper, in Science Immunology, led by Rui Yang æšçż from Casanova Lab, we determine the consequences of Tbet deficiency on B cells humoral immunity in humans. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc

Out today in Journal of Experimental Medicine our Deenick Lab paper comparing APDS1 and APDS2. We show while these two conditions are similar, not all PI3K dysregulation is the same. Great collab with Stuart Tangye and 3 great PhD students JĂșlia Bier, Tina Nguyen and Anthony Lau bit.ly/42rfmlB

1/ How do you recover microenvironmental signals that drive cell differentiation from sc data? By taking the ENTRAIN! ENTRAIN is an environment-aware trajectory inference tool developed by Wunna Kyaw a brilliant PhD student Garvan Institute of Medical Research UNSW Medicine & Health. tinyurl.com/2vh2273d

Dear Chemo, we need to talk
What if therapies used to control primary tumor growth increase the likelihood of metastatic relapse? And how do they impact disseminated cells that have already seeded distant organs at diagnosis? Why do we need to understand EXTRA-TIME....
