A very big thank-you to Affinity Care Community Partnership (ACCP) for funding our room hire for the next year. We now support 12 gents every Sunday for a 2 course meal and the chance to combat loneliness and isolation. Friendships formed and grow each and every week.

Thank you to those who have donated monies to our group. Money they would have spent on Christmas cards 🎄 this year has kindly been donated. This will go towards hampers and our Christmas meal. We thank you again for all the continued support.

Sunday Social is fortunate enough to have an amazing volunteer every week. He works hard and arrives at 8am to help set up and just gets on with it. Great with our members, and hes 14!! Today he said he's not got an advent calendar. We'll we had to change that. As a thank you.

Today, we celebrated this gents 83rd birthday. He is such a kind human who became very emotional when we sang happy birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉. We are truly honoured to be able to help our members celebrate their birthday. #KindnessMatters #makingadifference. #combatingisolation

We are sad to share that we lost one of our most loved members this week. Richard. No longer suffering and no longer in pain. Rest now, Richard. We will remember you and miss you dearly.

That's Sunday Social done for 2024. Christmas meal and Christmas gifts were gratefully received by all our members. Happy Christmas to our members. Volunteers and supporters. It's been a great 2024.

Thanks to some great community spirit, some serious digging and gritting, and some kind 4×4 drivers to transport our members safely tomorrow. We can finally open and feed our members tomorrow. This is why I love Denholme. Some very excited gents are looking forward to tomorrow.

Our members have twisted my arm into organising them a board game Saturday session, which will run alongside our Denholme Contact Point 3rd Saturday of each month on a trial basis. If it's successful, it will continue. Another great way to combat loneliness and form friendships.

Our first games morning along side this mornings Denholme Contact Point. Chess, dominoes, cake and conversation enjoyed by all. Already looking forward to next months.

We had a few members missing this week which was a shame, however we've had the best time celebrating St Patricks day today. Homemade Guinness and steak pie.

Seen as one of our volunteers had her grapes pinched last week by most of our members, we will now be providing fruit every week. For those who struggle to add this into their weekly shop can take home whats left. #freefruit #supportingourvulnerable #HealthyLiving
