Thank you to the Clarksville Industrial Association for including me in their discussion today. And, for allowing the state and our workforce partner time to present Austin Peay State University with check for a new youth employment program that will expand career exploration in that region.

It was great to spend time with community leaders from Clarksville-Montgomery County. This is such a fast growing area of our great state and these leaders are driving that growth. We had a great conversation. Thanks to Leadership Clarksville for inviting me.

Thank you to Tennessee Higher Education Commission for inviting me to join the discussion on leveraging the unique strengths of Tennessee’s HBCUs to benefit the entire state. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in this important conversation! #HBCU #HigherEd #Tennessee

The snow can't stop the folks from the Blount Partnership who are on The Hill in Nashville this week. Even though state offices are closed, they made it in. Commissioner Thomas joined them virtually to discuss critical topics to their county, like wages, AI, and youth employment.

I spent part of my morning with some of the brightest workforce minds from neighboring states discussing jobs at the Valley Workforce Summit. Thank you to Tennessee Valley Authority for inviting me to take part in an important discussion about workforce development in the Southeast.

Safety is a critical part of our Department’s mission. Having a chance to talk with the folks who are keeping workers safe while on the job across Tennessee is one my favorite parts of the TN Safety & Health Conference Conference each year.

I spent two great days in Memphis this week. My trip to Tech 901 spotlighted the important working happening there and their amazing students. Then, I never miss a trip to an American Job Center. And, I had a chance to see the transformative programs SouthwestTN offers students.

Thank you to Partnership Tennessee for inviting me to take part in such an esteemed panel at fiskuniversity. We discussed our career journeys and answered questions from 75 students who traveled to Nashville from colleges across Tennessee. It was an impactful afternoon.

Congratulations to the Dickson&Clarksville Spring 2025 graduates. It was my honor to speak at your graduation. I know the skills you’ve gained will have a tremendous impact on Tennessee’s workforce!

I am passionate about workforce development. I was honored to take part in a discussion about WIOA at the National National Skills Coalition Summit in Washington, D.C. When folks with common goals get together and share best practices, everyone in Tennessee and the nation benefits.
