Part 1 of the Dental Council examination will take place between 23rd and 28th March 2024 in Dublin. We wish to advise that exam capacity this year has been increased by 50%. Successful applicants will be issued a timetable shortly.

(Part 1) Practising as a Dental Hygienist without registration is considered illegal practise, and any indemnity insurance you have will be void. This puts patients in significant danger and the Dental Council will take action against illegal practice.

PART2: Dental Hygienists can only work under the supervision of a registered Dentist. Dentists are obliged to ensure that their clinical staff are appropriately registered and a failure to ensure this, may result in dentist facing an allegation of professional misconduct.
