Derby Cathedral's bells will ring out tomorrow to mark the return of the swifts to the UK. Derby Nature Collective also wants to raise awareness of the declining swift population - which it said was mainly down to a loss of nesting sites - with the Bells for Birds event.

The magnificent, restored Derby Market Hall is due to open to the public on Saturday 24th May 2025. It's a great day to visit the city centre and see this restored Victorian masterpiece (one of the UK's earliest purpose-built undercover markets) and to take a boat trip!
