Our Viola Desmond Public School 6s used knowledge building to examine the ways in which humans impact our ecosystem. Ss came up with so many 'wonders' that we will be exploring in the weeks to come! #thisisuswhatisourimpact

During this week's Viola Desmond Public School read alouds, we have focused on the power and impact of words. Ss were challenged to think of "One word to change the world". 7-2 did a KBC around this question and discussed the difference a word can make when thinking of impact and change
After hearing the story, “One Word For Kids,” students thought about one word to change the world 🌎. The Grade 2s loved using a variety of loose parts to build and create their own words that have a special meaning to them. Viola Desmond Public School #WhatIsThePowerandImpactofWords?
Our 3rd day of whole school read aloud & follow up activity led us to this creation in 1-1-: An image of a person with all the languages we think in (brain area) and the languages we speak to our family, friends, and classmates with (located in the heart) Viola Desmond Public School

Our grade 6s had a wonderful time at Mountsberg. We explored birds of prey, a variety of invasive plant species, and their favorite part was feeding the birds! A great way to end off our Biodiversity unit Viola Desmond Public School
