Today, the Knights of Columbus Michigan State Council begins its annual convention. I am grateful to join in prayer and fellowship for the first time as Archbishop of Detroit. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue the work of promoting charity and proclaiming the Gospel.

On this Solemnity of Pentecost, I had the great joy of celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation. The same Holy Spirit who descended upon the Apostles at the first Pentecost comes again at Confirmation, strengthening us in our faith and renewing the Church in every generation.

It was an honor to preside at the funeral Mass for Archbishop Michael Byrnes, a native son of the @archofdet and beloved friend of many from southeast Michigan to Guam. May the Lord grant him a peaceful rest and eternal reward.

At today’s Jubilee Mass, we honored 40 priests celebrating a combined 2,028 years of ministry. Among them, Archbishop Emeritus Vigneron marks 50 years of faithful service. Thank you, brothers, and may the Lord who called you continue to bless your ministry.

Today’s blessing and grand opening of the Cathedral Arts Apartments marks a step forward in our local Church's mission to go out from the pews in service of everyone in our community. May this space always serve as a source of hope and renewal for all who call it home.

Today I joined hundreds walking to the ICE field office in Detroit, motivated by a truth that flows from the Gospel: Everyone has inherent dignity. We recognize this dignity above all else and seek to bring our nation back to its roots of charity, accompaniment, and welcome.

With gratitude and hope, we formalized a historic partnership yesterday between Ste Anne and the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation. May this endeavor bear lasting fruit for the Church, the city of Detroit, and all who seek the presence of God in this sacred place.

Recalling Pope Francis' nightly calls to Father Gabriele Romanelli, pastor of Holy Family Church in Gaza, I feel an ever-greater need to repeat our late Holy Father’s calls for an end to the bloodshed—calls now echoed by Pope Leo.
