The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling for cuts to the governor general’s bloated budget. The GG receives a $378,000 salary, a taxpayer-funded clothing allowance, a lifetime pension of about $150,000 annually and a $200,000 annual expense account after leaving office.

Almost a quarter of your gas bill in Saskatchewan is taxes. Everytime you head to the pumps you pay three different taxes. The provincial gas tax, the federal gas tax and GST. Filling up a minivan costs Saskatchewan drivers $23 in taxes.
