We hosted the Mid Wiltshire New Age Kurling finals this week, with 16 teams competing in closely fought competition. Year 9 sports leaders were exceptional, with visitors commenting on their professionalism and WWF attitude.

Things got tense between Years 10 & 11 in their Netball match today, with Year 10 coming out on top by a single goal! Well done to everyone taking part, Elsie from our Sixth Form for refereeing, and Mrs Hobbs, Mr Lamb, Miss Beck & Mr Richardson for cheering them on!

United in defeat as well as victory, our Year 11s sadly lost 5-3 on penalties today after a 2-2 draw. The referee told staff how 'impressed he was with how our team handled the situation', saying it was one of the best responses he'd seen in a school team- a credit to us all!

We were delighted to take a selection of Easter Eggs to Briggs Care Home last week, with an egg donated by each tutor group in the school. Hand delivered by smiling Sixth Formers, the residents really appreciated the kind gesture of our students.

Some lucky (and observant) students noticed something different on Friday last week- a surprise Easter Egg Hunt with winning tickets placed sneakily around the school by Mr Richardson- those that won may be shy but they were also very happy to pick up their winning eggs!

Our Photography club and IN3 have been making the most of sunny weather by mixing ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide together to make some lovely cyanotypes- art & chemistry colliding with creative results!

Our Employability Day was a fantastic success for our Year 10 and 12 students- with CV work, psychometric tests and a mock interview with a local employer, our students showed off their brilliant communication skills and work ethic. Thank you to everyone involved!

Our House Council met in the Sixth Form loft today, discussing new ideas on how we develop our schools culture and facilities. It was great to see representatives across all year groups working together!

Don't forget tomorrow- as a part of the school's VE Day celebration we're holding a non-uniform day, wearing something red, white or blue. £1 donations to the Royal British Legion can be made via the ParentPay app.

Yesterday we celebrated the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. With a video assembly led by Mr Strickland, students dressed in red, white & blue, VE related activities in the LRC and money raised for the Royal British Legion, it was another great day to remember for our students.
