I absolutely agree. A trailblazer. An icon. A leader and a good troublemaker. She fought against injustice and wanted unity well before it was cool to do so. This world wasn't kind to her , but she paved the way for many of us. Rest easy! Rest in Power. A loss to the world.

This is what happens when white people refuse to acknowledge that racism is often the subtle acts of discrimination that go "unnoticed." This has angered me beyond measure. An apology isn't enough. And the fact that we are learning of this now is even worse. That poor baby😭

You don't need to know everything there is to know when it comes to war & violence. You can be empathetic, learn more, and then make informed decisions. You don't need to post for the sake of appearing "woke." Sometimes, not having an opinion is better than performative shows.

1. Your children are not an extension of you. 2. Apologising to your children is a necessity. 3. Video games aren't always bad. 4. Staying in an abusive relationship for your children is child abuse. 5. Your whole identity shouldn't be parenting. 6. Put yourself first often

This is a sad reality on the reality of racism even during a war.

Three months ago, I embarked on my professional journey with the UNHCR as a Senior Community-Based Protection Associate UNHCR Ireland. I will always be a social worker at heart but I'm enjoying this journey and looking forward to see what the future holds. #CareerDevelopment

Attending AkiDwA international women's day 2024. Dr Dr. Salome Mbugua highlighted that " inclusion beyond measures" which is this year's theme benefits everyone. It fosters dynamic economy, cohesive society & everyone realises their potential. We must all be champions for inclusion.

Congratulations to AkiDwA which has been in operation in Ireland for 23 years and doing amazing work with Immigrants women in Ireland employing over 14 staff and contributing to our economy in all aspects. A clear example of the benefits of real inclusion and integration.

It is a pleasure and a full 360 to be able to work with unaccompanied children seeking international protection. It is also a great collaboration between UNHCR Ireland and Tusla - Child and Family Agency by ensuring the needs of children seeking international protection are centered in this work.
