On the 78th #IndiaIndependenceDay, the The Dawoodi Bohras of #Tampa joined the local Indian-American community in welcoming Hon. CG Shri L. Ramesh Babu India in Atlanta to the City of Tampa. Together, they participated in a flag hoisting and Unity Rally hosted by MANA American Telugu

During yesterday’s County Commissioner meeting, falsehoods were spread about my personal engagement with a non-profit that I was previously CEO of. I want to make it clear that any accusations of wrongdoing are false and baseless.

I was thrilled to join @CSHillsborough today for “Coffee and Careers”. They are doing fantastic work helping individuals secure gainful employment through their various resources and trainings. Kudos to the entire team!

So glad to join the Wellswood Neighborhood Assoc. tonight. We discussed a partnership with FDOT District 7 to bring fresh ideas to a parcel of land near Hillsborough River.

Today the City of Tampa and its residents came together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Walter L. Smith. He was a civil rights leader, scholar, and valued member of our community, and from now on his legacy is further cemented in the community with the naming of this street.

I spent the last evening with some brave Boy Scouts for their annual Boy Scouts Awards Dinner. Thank you to the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council, BSA for the invitation and too the scouts keep living the Scout Law.

Reading to some the babies in the NICU at St. Joseph ( BayCare ) for their annual “Read-a-thon” was so fulfilling. I’ve offered to come back and volunteer as a reader in the future, I hope more will participate in this wonderful event.

Due to the impending storm our office will be closed beginning tomorrow the 25th. We will reopen on Monday the 30th. In the meantime please be safe and follow all local and state advisories.

This is good policy that both the House and Senate unanimously agreed should be law. Rep. Dianne Hart has worked for years with every stakeholder imaginable to get this across the finish line. It is unfortunate the Governor is unwilling to see what the legislature saw.
