Two years since the lives of millions of Sudanese people changed forever. Two years of devastating destruction unleashed on a country already reeling from poverty - brutality that is worsening by the day as the most vulnerable civilians face RSF retaliation with no real cover.

I have no words to offer today. No succinct summary of the last 2 years to get people caught up. No insightful analysis or projection. I only have anger, heartbreak and disappointment.

coddling bad art isn’t solidarity

I hate to see artists flatten their own culture, turning it into props for performances that are palatable for export. Conscious or not, this is self orientalism. It might look like representation, but it strips away the dignity and complexity our cultures really hold.
