Joint winners of the 2022 Ralph Feltham Prize (for outstanding diplomat of the programme), Ndumiso Mngadi (South Africa) and Chanat Anantapanyasut (Thailand), with the Director of the Diplomatic Studies Programme, Dr Yolanda Kemp Spies.

We sadly announce that Christopher William Long, Director of the Foreign Service Programme (now the Diplomatic Studies Programme) 1999-2003, has passed away. Christopher served as UK Ambassador in Switzerland, Egypt and Hungary; and held senior positions in the FCDO and beyond.

CONGRATULATIONS to Marnix Cooreman, awarded the Jeremy Creswell Prize for the best MSt dissertation 22/23 - Sanctions, a non-violent alternative to war? A quantitative study into the impact of sanctions on the prevalence of intrastate conflict events in Africa from 1997 to 2018.

Great to host Oxford's Chancellor 4th March. Lord Patten joined Sir Ivor Roberts, a former UK senior Ambassador and President of Trinity College Oxford for a seminar with the DSP students. A superb masterclass in how to apply erudition and wisdom gained over years of experience.

Last week we swung open NATO’s doors to welcome diplomats and students from Oxford University Diplomatic Studies Programme where they held thought-provoking discussions with Ambassador David Quarrey on the the future of NATO and its challenges for the future

The Oxford University Diplomatic Studies Program Oxford University Diplomatic Studies Programme has been educating diplomats & senior leaders since 1969 at @UniOfOxford. We had the privilege of hosting their amazing participants earlier. Twenty-four different nationalities in the room!

Mr Yao, the Taiwanese Representative to the UK, visited Oxford University on 30 May at the invitation of the prestigious Oxford University Diplomatic Studies Programme (DSP) to talk about Taiwan’s diplomacy with more than 60 students and academics affiliated with the DSP and St. Antony's International Review, @OxDplo.

On 21 Jan. 2025, H.E. Dr Desra Percaya, Ambassador of Indonesia, addressed the DSP on the topic of ‘Indonesia's Middle Power diplomacy’. The event was organised by our current Indonesian participant, Hilmi Kartasasmita and took place at St Cross College.
