Been a great week and weekend spending extra quality time with Finn. Here, pictured taking a virtual meeting with Ms Rachel while dad has a virtual meeting with NASPS

My 1st first author paper is finally published! This chapter of my MS was a long time coming, went through so many rewrites along the way. Couldn’t have done it without my co-authors Sarah King @Maxson_Kris Levi Solomon and Jeffrey A. Stein Sport Fish Eco Lab link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Outstanding new #buffalofish paper 🚨 from Lackmann et al. If you somehow still don't feel that this critter and other #nongame fishes like it are a national treasure deserving of #conservation protections, please check out this paragraph... #fisheries nature.com/articles/s4159…

The paper's conclusive comment is spot on- "This work demonstrates the power of putting forth effort to study something neglected." But I'd add- it also demonstrates that a migratory pinch point can be the source of meaningful and opportunistic research. Pure Scientific Method!

I look forward to hearing how this topic shakes out over the remainder of my #fisheries career. Alternative sources of energy will be critical to this planet’s survival. However, the conflicts with ecology and individual rights (here, to property) make the discussion complex. 🤔

Humbled to be part of this award-winning 2023 paper on the understudied topics of #bowfishing and #nongame #management. 📸- lead author Graham receiving the award from Cecil Jennings, American Fisheries Society president. doi.org/10.1002/nafm.1…
