I welcome the government's decision to restore the winter fuel payment to 7.5 million pensioners, although it shouldn't have been taken away in the first place. We must learn lessons from this fiasco and halt plans to cut disability benefits before we make another huge mistake.

Some of the people hit hardest by the proposed benefit cuts will be people with experience of mental distress and psych survivors. Take a look at Mad Youth Organise and NSUN's joint briefing and further resources here 👇nsun.org.uk/news/briefing-…

Have you heard of the Activity Trap? Research by Activity Alliance shows that half of Disabled people fear losing our benefits if we are seen to be physically active. ❌A more punitive benefits system will only lead to worsening physical and mental health

🚨A welcome Government U-Turn on the winter fuel payment, which they have restored to 7.5 million pensioners. These cuts should never have been proposed in the first place - to save another embarrassment, the Government should reverse their disability benefit cut plans now too.

The Government has kept Housing Benefit levels frozen since 2013, meaning Disabled people facing homelessness are having to use our PIP to cover rent. If MPs wave these cuts through, the m number of people at risk of homelessness will only rise inews.co.uk/news/pip-claim…

No matter what funding goes towards housing, education or social care, the Government’s plans to cut benefits for millions will only lead to more strain on all our public services. Abandon the cuts, tax the rich and fully fund our public services! #SpendingReview

🚨 £5bn cut from social security. That's what's missing from today's headlines. While everyone's talking about Rachel Reeves' big spending plan, people already struggling are facing more hardship. We asked the people she's meant to represent in Leeds what they think of the cuts

More money for the NHS will fall flat if the Government go ahead with their proposed disability benefit cuts, which are a major public health risk. It's time for them to abandon the cuts and pledge to fully fund our health and social care system. #SpendingReview
