Can't let July end w/o honoring Disability Pride Month! Big s/o to New Disabled South Rising's SPARC Fellowship, taught me so much about the shortcomings of the ADA & how much work we have yet to do. Legislators/constituents alike, follow them for disability justice learning opportunities!

As National Disability Voting Rights Week continues, we're replaying this clip of Dom Kelly of New Disabled South New Disabled South Rising on how the Plain Language Policy Dashboard makes policy info more accessible to disabled voters. View the full webinar: bit.ly/DPF-Activism-W… #NDVRW2024

Thank you @[email protected]. As of now we have $200k in requests and we have sent out around $42k between our $20k and the money we’ve raised so far. We will continue to send out money as it comes in and get whatever we can to whomever needs it, including after Hurricane Milton.

Disabled voters are a critical constituency in every major southern swing state. We're excited to share a new report in collab with Disability Culture Lab Action revealing the power of the #DisabilityVote. Read at …bilityVote.NewDisabledSouthRising.Org

So New Disabled South Rising has 4 billboards up in ATL! 2 gotv billboards: one on I-20 N by AUC, and one at MB stadium. 3rd compares @ashwinforga to his fake elector opponent on Abbotts Bridge Rd in Johns Creek. 4th compares Sally Harrell GA SD-40 to her opponent on I-85 N near Chamblee-Tucker.

Community is going to be critical moving forward. We New Disabled South Rising / New Disabled South updated our Atlanta election billboards with this message: Community care includes wearing a mask. Love disabled people.

“…it has become more and more apparent that we are on our own,” [Dom] Kelly said. “Public health professionals need to step up, movement activists and organizers need to mask up, and we all need to be in solidarity for those in the Long COVID community.” thesicktimes.org/2025/02/11/now…
