Cutting Winter Fuel Payments will disproportionately harm disabled people. I challenged the Equalities Minister to disclose what assessments, if any, have been made.

Honestly the early 2000s mindset of most claimants/disabled people are liars is so damaging. If we make the benefit system actually supportive, so many more people will have the health to explore work, and that’s before we actually hold businesses to account on adjustments!

And yet we (as a society) continue to dedicate time interrogating Liz Kendall over non-existent fraud instead of giving much-needed answers to disabled people re: what will happen to PIP

What do you consider severely? All disabled people deserve the right to exist and many disabled people are unable to engage in society because of the lack of health and work support

LGBT+ Lib Dems do a phenomenal job in the party and are incredible allies of LDDA. In response we hope to be able to support them, recognise intersectionality and maintain a genuine liberal voice. Harassment of their volunteers is unacceptable.

Had an amazing time in Harrogate - spent most of it with my LDDA - Liberal Democrat Disability Association chair hat on. We passed a successful amendment to the SEND motion, had some wonderful chats with other AOs and MPs and are really looking forward to the work ahead now!

How many disabled people are due to lose PIP money they use to help get them to their jobs which will result in them becoming unemployed and seeking other welfare support 🤔

Being disabled is expensive and PIP is designed to acknowledge that. It has nothing to do with employment or even income and everything to do with providing disabled people a chance at engaging with society in an equitable way. Even then it’s only a chance, not guaranteed.

If you want to help get disabled people in to work, the bare minimum would be to allow us to use our bus passes prior to 9:30 so we can use it for work. I have to take two buses instead of a thirty min walk I could have done prior to my spine injury that adds up.

Well I would say that support for people with disabilities is definitely one of the big issues at the moment- I do care about getting the details right and our party cares about keeping #PIP

We are studying today's judgement by the UK Supreme Court. Nothing they rule will change our solidarity with the trans+ community and with everyone who seeks to live their lives under control of their own bodies, and free from poverty, ignorance or conformity. (1/3)

The UKSC ruling was an opportunity for the government and the EHRC to step up and commit to affirm the rights of all. They've failed on every measure, choosing to peddle hate and discrimination instead. We've heard enough: Kishwer Falkner and Bridget Phillipson must resign.

I have written to the First Minister urging the Scottish Government to hear from all those affected by the Supreme Court ruling when planning how to implement it.
