A significant study reveals no difference in quality of life for advanced cancer patients between in-person visits and a mixed approach (one in-person followed by video visits). This insight could impact future patient care strategies. #CancerCare #QualityOfL #hapc25

An important study on a stepped palliative model for advanced lung cancer shows that while it involves fewer visits, there’s no difference in quality of life compared to monthly PC visits, with the same level of fidelity. This could reshape palliative care approaches. #hapc25

Mary Lynn McPherson Suzetrigine is a non-opioid that acts peripherally (i.e. non-addictive). But the jury (AKA Mary Lynn McPherson) is still out - the comparison drugs weren’t dosed appropriately, there was no info on use of rescue meds, & financial modeling for 1 week of therapy would cost >$400. #hapc25

As a physician scientist, I'm deeply worried about the decreasing indirect funding. With only 1-2% of physicians being scientists already, the stress on researchers is palpable. This could seriously hinder our ability to innovate and drive advancements in healthcare.

RCT: An intervention combining algorithm-based automated identification of patients eligible for palliative care (PC) with default PC referral increased PC visits and decreased end-of-life systemic therapy among patients with cancer. ja.ma/4b9JF56 @WinshipatEmory

What an amazing #AGS25—so inspiring to reconnect in person, hear incredible geriatrics research, and be surrounded by people who care deeply about older adults. Bonus: 2 awards, a fabulous Wake Forest dinner, and my first Shakespearean improv comedy show! #Chicago
