I'm not sure y'all understand how fiercely competitive NIH grants are. It took me years of work and multiple tries to get this. The part I personally feel the most cheated about, halfway into yr 2 of a 5 yr grant, is that 5 years ago this would have made my career. But now...?

Stunning. With rollout of the RSV vaccine and treatment for babies <8 months old, RSV hospitalizations fell >50%. By comparison, for toddlers and kids <5 years who were not covered by these advances, RSV hospitalizations did not fall.
