Of interest re: this UK report on the transgender athlete in women's sport issue -fairplayforwomen.com/wp-content/upl…, is its focus on the voice of females (biological girls and women) who are actually experiencing competition versus transgender athletes.

To date, transgender organizations have had an impressive communications campaign - embracing the social justice values of inclusion, equal treatment, suicide and other dangers of non-identical treatment and inclusion--but also intentionally silencing of opposing voices.

The voices of those who challenge transgender org positions or supposed facts have effectively been silenced via using the arrows of "transphobic."  Arguments of science are not sexy compared to rage or accusations. Voices of biological females must also be listened to.

Most disturbing to me has been a refusal on the part of transgender organizations to come to the table to speak about eligibility issues with those opposing their positions (I speak from the experience of someone who has worked to make this happen).

Also of concern because it doesn't contribute to respectful dialogue, are demands to accept new language that is both confusing and unforgiving such as "a transgender woman is a woman, period." Sex is immutable at the chromosomal level while gender identity is modifiable.

Other trans arguments of concern to women's sports are a refusal to deal with privacy rights in changing spaces and restrooms, misrepresentations of law, and a denial or undermining of the science on this issue. An open and respectful conversation is needed.
