DHS Class of 2008 grad Emmanuel Espinoza, a practicing lawyer and Weslaco’s Municipal Judge, returned to teach at Donna ISD before pursuing law. Hear him share his inspiring journey.
This DISD hosted Emergency Response and Preparedness Safety Tabletop Exercises at Adame Elementary for district administrators, campus principals, and pd staff. These types of exercises are essential to ensure we are ready to act quickly and effectively in any situation.
Student leaders from the DHS and DNHS Band recently took part in the SASI Leadership Camp held at Sharyland High School. They engaged in leadership sessions, team-building exercises, and body movement activities—all designed to help them grow as individuals and leaders.

At today’s H.C. Commissioners Court meeting, a new MOU was approved, allowing the H.C. Head Start Program to operate at DISD’s former Guzman Elem. campus. The facility will now be known as H.C. Head Start at Guzman and will house 16 Head Start classes under one roof.

Shout out to Supt. Dr. Angela Dominguez and the Donna ISD leadership team for representing at the 2025 TASB Summer Leadership Institute in San Antonio! 👏 They shared insights on “Future-Focused Planning” and how transparent communication guided our school consolidation efforts.
This week, two DISD Police officers—Cpl C. Vasquez and Ofc. Stephanie Martin—will receive their Advanced SWAT Certifications. Today, we caught them in action as they tackled simulated bus rescues and hostage crisis scenarios. Training was led by Valor Tactical Training.

New Texas Cell Phone Changes for Schools 2025-2026
Under Texas House Bill 1481 students may not use cell phones inside the school building during the instructional day. Donna ISD is reviewing the current policies to meet the new requirements.
