Oh wow. I got to join The Liverpool Signing Choir on Friday at the MWOTY Awards awards lunch. It was incredible & I went for it! It’s been amazing being Merseyside Woman of the Year 2024 & seeing the amazing women of 2025 getting their awards. Merseyside makes formidable, kind, funny women!#MWOTY25

LOVE this from the amazing Katriona O'Sullivan. It resonates so much & it’s how I feel at Sunday Breakfast Club. I don’t know all their stories, their lives, traumas & addictions, I just know they are human, hurting & hungry. They need kindness, food & humour, not judgment. #kindness 💚

🧵If that bill passes today, in a couple of years, expect debt and welfare rights services to be completely overwhelmed as people with disabilities and serious health conditions fall behind with their rents and mortgages - as happens already - and struggle to make ends meet

I’ve thought a lot about whether it’s the right thing to talk about Rachel Reeves crying at PMQs. Because crying is not something we should be ashamed of, or something we should be judged for. Because crying is something associated with women - and in particular this misogynistic

The news about Diogo Jota is just devastating. The pain of it for the family scarcely comprehensible. Footballers mean a lot more to many of us than some ever know. I really think Diogo Jota knew. From Anfield, I've written about the love for him. bbc.com/sport/football…

Wa so tough seeing homeless people coming into Sunday Breakfast Club in this heat. Nowhere to shelter so no escape from it. Had loads of water as well as food, to takeaway too. Please consider homeless people & offer water, sun hats & sun cream if you can. They are so vulnerable.

We were short staffed at Sunday Breakfast Club this morning so the early regulars helped me set up the tables & chairs, wrote their names & drink choices in the book & got stuck in. Despite their grotesque circumstances, they never forget how to be human. Not sure I’d be able to.
