Congratulations Jonas Tallberg for this well-deserved honor.

APSA featured a great set of panels on IC. Big thanks to program chairs Sean Ehrlich and Victoria Paniagua for all their work! Congrats to our award winners Katherine Beall (dissertation), Didac Queralt (book), Julia Morse/Tyler Pratt (article), Jonas Tallberg (mentor)

New research on governments can use shady election observers to limit protests. Iām Happy to see this working paper in the UC Institute on Global Conflict & Cooperation series!

Publication day! Over the moon to see my new book, out with Oxford Academic. The book is available through the UK site (US a bit longer), and can be shipped to the rest of the world. I also have a 30% discount code ( below). Who do I want to read this book?global.oup.com/academic/produā¦

New paper on low-quality international election monitors with Sarah Bush & Lauren Prather ā®ļø, forthcoming open access at RIO in our special issue on Illiberal Regimes & IOs, now also uploaded as a working paper on IGCC ucigcc.org/publication/zo⦠1/

Honored to contribute to this stellar special issue on autocracy and intl orgs. Our article examines how autocrats invite multiple intl election observers to reduce the risk of post election contention. With Burcu Savun Perisa Davutoglu and Kelly Morrison. PEIO/RIO

In a new article in American Political Science Review, Sarah Bush, Daniela Donno and I show that autocrats can use womenās rights to enhance their reputation for democracy and prospects for foreign aid among democracy promoters and aid officials - also in the absence of electoral liberalization.

We have a great APSA program organized by @mephenke and Randall Henning as division chairs. Check out these panels: tinyurl.com/2dd7cwp2
