In 2012, after the first ever Competition, we were congratulating a team from Donohoe Group Oxford Chemistry on their winning route to pyrrolidinoindoline alkaloid (+)-alsmaphorazine E.

Thank you to the Donohoe Group for having me as a post-doc. I had a lot of fun working with some great young chemists (and mediocre punters) under the excellent mentorship of “Big Tim” Donohoe.

Congratulations everyone on our latest paper in Angewandte Chemie describing aluminium reagents for efficient hydride shifts. doi.org/10.1002/anie.2…

Check out our paper on the Synthesis of Cyclopropanes using Hydrogen Borrowing Catalysis in J Org Chem/Org Lett. Congrats to Jess (Jess Crompton) and James! Thank you to SBM CDT, @Royalcom1851, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and GSK! bit.ly/3PWdXjj

Come and join us! We have a PhD studentship in organic synthesis available in my lab Newcastle Chemistry (UK/international students) in collaboration with Erli Lu Group & Mike Waring. Help us to develop 1e- reductions that will make Na/NH3 a thing of the past! ncl.ac.uk/postgraduate/f…

Excited to see that our recent paper in Angewandte Chemie making cyclohexenes has been given hot paper status! 🔥 Check it out here doi.org/10.1002/anie.2…

At #ACSFall2023 this week? Come and see Donohoe Group members Jingyan and Jess Crompton present their recently published work! Jingyan: Wed 16 Aug, Room 23, South Building at 3:00 pm Jess: Wed 16 Aug, Room 2, South Building at 3:35 pm #CAS

In ChemRxiv we (in collaboration with Donohoe Group) show that hydrogen borrowing can be a remarkably mild and functional group tolerant process: bit.ly/46QXWRh Outstanding stuff from Elliot Bailey Oxford Chemistry SBM CDT

In ChemRxiv we (in collaboration with Smith Group) show that hydrogen borrowing can be a remarkably mild and functional group tolerant process: bit.ly/46QXWRh Well done Elliot Bailey, Oxford Chemistry, SBM CDT

We have a 4-year #fundedPhD studentship in organic synthesis available in my lab Newcastle Chemistry in collaboration with AstraZeneca on new synthetic methods to make C-N atropisomeric amides! #PhD findaphd.com/phds/project/p… Deadline = 7th Feb. Informal enquiries welcome. Please RT.

Our work investigating the functional group tolerance of the hydrogen borrowing enolate alkylation method now out in full form! Smith Group Donohoe Group Oxford Chemistry SBM CDT nature.com/articles/s4146…

Check out this amazing work spearheaded by our very own Elliot Bailey! Congratulations to Elliot for making great strides in hydrogen borrowing Oxford Chemistry nature.com/articles/s4146…

Congratulations to Dana and Megan on their latest HFIP paper on the synthesis of lactones, out now in Chemical Communications bit.ly/3X4CohA SBM CDT @Royalcom1851 Oxford Chemistry

Check out our latest paper on the synthesis of quaternary centres using Hydrogen Borrowing Catalysis just published in Angewandte Chemie. Congrats to Jess Jess Crompton. Thank you to SBM CDT, @Royalcom1851, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and GSK. bit.ly/4fUAjLk

Have a look at our latest paper on the use of DKR in hydrogen borrowing catalysis- just out in Angewandte Chemie. Well done to everyone including Dani Daniella Cheang and Jess Jess Crompton. Thank you to SBM CDT, @RoyalCom1851, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and AstraZeneca bit.ly/3CGs3B1
