Can’t wait to get started! I have been involved in global development since my elective, it’s incredibly rewarding work - first port of call will be to survey membership! If you have a project or want to get involved with developing services get in touch!

An APPALLING decision by Royal College of Physicians Can’t quite believe they’ve done this to Partha S Kar 🇮🇳🇬🇧🏏🎥 who has shown nothing but integrity & outstanding leadership RCP you’ve lost all our respect And to have the audacity to ask Prof Kar to see a GP for “mental distress”?! Despicable.

If we all chip in a little while reading, sharing, and engaging in each other's published work, no one individually has to face huge fees to publish. Open access research should be led by the scientific community: fair, shared, and sustainable. Global surgery is leading the way.

Just a few contributors from around the world need only to give less than the price of a coffee (to gain early access to newly published peer-reviewed research) in order to make the research open access for all. Is this your best effort to keep patients safe Wes Streeting ? It’s your governments decisions and directives that’ve told trusts not to escalate rates. Any harm will be on your hands

Dr Haseena Wazir (@drhwazir) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Wes Streeting is copying the same failed Tory playbook - and doctors see right through it. No offer on pay. No plan to move fully qualified doctors from £18.62/hr to £22.67/hr, even over time. Vague “non pay elements” that mean nothing. Student loan forgiveness wasn’t even on

ClinOncDoc (@clinoncdoc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Part of the reason we are in this predicament is that Wes Streeting is advised by a boomer generation of Drs whose financial realities are so far removed from today’s residents they cant comprehend there being such a vast gap. 🧵 1/3

ClinOncDoc (@clinoncdoc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Prof Sikora’s generation had: ✅ free tuition ✅ no 100k debt ✅ free accommodation ✅ final salary pensions ✅ clinical excellence awards ✅ family home at 3x salary ✅ 20-30% higher salary ✅ Job security ✅ Lower cost of living None of which is true for current Drs 2/3

🧵 Retired surgeon Prof Meirion Thomas' claims that patients struggle to see GPs because “too many women are doctors” are insulting and unfounded. Workforce challenges stem from underfunding and rising demand, not gender.

We are clear: encouraging women into the medical profession allows patients to be treated by the brightest and best doctors available. We support a diverse, flexible and inclusive medical profession where everyone can thrive, regardless of background. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

🚨 Second Picket Announcement: Straight to Streeting’s Patch 🚨 After the fantastic picket turnout at St Thomas’ last Friday, we’re stepping things up. We’re holding a second picket in Wes Streeting’s own constituency outside the hospital he represents, to make sure he hears us

Dr Haseena Wazir Wes Streeting BMA London Resident Doctors Good luck Tuesday! Sorry I can't make. Merseyside Fire Brigades Union has launched an open letter in support of the BMA campaign. Please sign if not in the BMA; and everyone share widely! docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

Wes Streeting could have ended these strikes weeks ago by making a credible offer. We’re asking for a doctor on £18.62/hr to go to £22.67/hr; not all at once, but over a reasonable timeframe. Instead, he offered promises of more vague talks on non pay elements, like hot meals

Dr Haseena Wazir (@drhwazir) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Doctors were promised a journey to pay restoration by Wes Streeting. One year later, the latest uplift delays pay restoration by 20 years and even last year’s non pay reforms haven’t been delivered. That’s not a journey, it’s a broken promise from this Government.
