Last week in Dorset...another beautiful church on the distant ancestor memorial trail!. Glanvilles Wootton. Took some finding...but totally worth it. Beautiful setting. (with swifts screeching round the tower!)

Swifts Like a trip back in time to the '60's - Swifts at Cranborne Manor, Dorset, this afternoon. This was 2pm - the groundsperson called it the "quiet time". You should see it in the early morning, she said, - it's thick with them... Blimey - maybe 60 birds there as I watched.

Dear our Ringed Plovers Lovers,  Chesil Beach has recorded 5 ringed plover nests so far this season. One has hatched chicks, while the another two are still incubating. Heres hoping these little floofs are up and running around soon!   Photo Credit: Angela Thomas
