Pleased to catch up with Figure of Eight at a small rewilding project at Mickley last night. A declining species - we tend to see between 5 and 15 records most years in Yorkshire now.

Shocked to find this pristine Radford's Flame Shoulder on the wall by the garden trap this morning. Might've used the F word when I saw it! Could only be the second for Lancs to one caught at Sunderland Point (VC60) at the weekend.

A smart Mallow last night was the third year in a row I've caught this scarce (declining?) species in the garden #kilnsea #teammoth

Stigmella myrtillella (Bilberry Dot) - There's probably loads of these out there to be found, but it's only the second record for #VC64. The first being in 1883. #Otley #Chevin #moths British Moths Bradford Nature Wildlife Friendly Otley WildaboutOtley.bsky.social

Diasemiopsis ramburialis was the best of the migrant activity to reach the centre of the country, and our #Yorkshire garden last night. Also, Scarce Bordered Straw, Delicate, Udea ferrugalis, Gem x 3, and others.

Radford's Flame Shoulder to light, Driffield, East Yorkshire last night. 78/30 moths. With the first for Yorkshire at Spurn earlier this week and another at N Ferriby last night, how many more are in Yorkshire right now? Musotima nitidalis (Marbled Fern) on the sheet next to the trap this morning, Driffield, East Yorkshire. New to the county just a few weeks ago. I believe there have now been at least 7 individuals in Yorkshire including this one. Migrant Lepidoptera Charles Fletcher Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire

Out near the Strid at Bolton Abbey today. What a great tree this was. Lots of blister mines (a few of which are now spending the winter in my wood store) and the feeding signs and hole left by Heliozela sericiella the Oak Cutter. #VC64 Bradford Nature
