Easington Moths..2 new migrants for the garden, Four-spotted Footman and Red Sword-grass. Also Olive-tree Pearl and Rusty-dot Pearl. The footman is rare in Yorkshire and Red S-grass do breed but with good migration going on... Charles Fletcher UK Moth Identification Migrant Lepidoptera British Moths

Figure of Eight - A moth that just about hangs on locally with an annual record in the Otley area most years. After a gap of 5 years it was my turn. #VC64 #Otley Wildlife Friendly Otley WildaboutOtley.bsky.social Bradford Nature British Moths

Palpita vitrealis from my Skelton garden trap last night. The 4th individual here so far this year of this seemingly increasing migrant moth Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire Butterfly Conservation 🦋 British Moths teesbirds NorthYorksBirdNews Tees Wildlife Migrant Lepidoptera

A few moth highlights from the last week: Palpita vitrealis and Exapate congelatella (both new for the garden, VC 61), a Caloptilia honoratella mine on sycamore, and a Coleophora lusciniaepennella larval case on grey willow. #teammoth Charles Fletcher Migrant Lepidoptera Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire

Stigmella myrtillella (Bilberry Dot) - There's probably loads of these out there to be found, but it's only the second record for #VC64. The first being in 1883. #Otley #Chevin #moths British Moths Bradford Nature Wildlife Friendly Otley WildaboutOtley.bsky.social

Radford's Flame Shoulder to light, Driffield, East Yorkshire last night. 78/30 moths. With the first for Yorkshire at Spurn earlier this week and another at N Ferriby last night, how many more are in Yorkshire right now? A few recent VC 61 #leafmines: Stigmella viscerella (elm, 6th record?), S. betulicola (birch, 3rd record?), S. assimilella (aspen, 5th record?), Coleophora potentillae (bramble, 3rd record). No migrants in my garden though. #teammoth Charles Fletcher Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire

Musotima nitidalis (Marbled Fern) on the sheet next to the trap this morning, Driffield, East Yorkshire. New to the county just a few weeks ago. I believe there have now been at least 7 individuals in Yorkshire including this one. Migrant Lepidoptera Charles Fletcher Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire

Like buses...... #teammoth #kilnsea Charles Fletcher from last night, also Delicate, 2 Palpita Vitrealis and my 2nd Clancy's Rustic

Out near the Strid at Bolton Abbey today. What a great tree this was. Lots of blister mines (a few of which are now spending the winter in my wood store) and the feeding signs and hole left by Heliozela sericiella the Oak Cutter. #VC64 Bradford Nature
