Partial closure in the Bronze Age Boat Gallery: The area containing the Bronze Age boat film will be closed for 10 months due to building work. However, the room with the Bronze Age boat itself will remain open and available to view. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The half-size reconstruction of the Dover Bronze Age Boat has returned to grounds near Dover Museum. A team of will be working on deconstructing, cleaning and reconstructing the boat ready for its next journey to Paris for an exhibition of the European Bronze Age in 2025.

Discovered in 1987 in Deal, the 'Deal Man' is a carved chalk figurine of Celtic design, dated around the late Iron Age or early Roman period, it is a fascinating representation of the human form. Come see it for real in Dover Museum!
