I'd like to say a huge thank you to my colleagues from all sides of the UK House of Commons and House of Lords for their support for the #DownSyndromeBill. The cross party effort has been crucial to the Bill passing both Houses of UK Parliament. National Down Syndrome Policy Group #DownSyndrome

BREAKING NEWS: The #DownSyndromeBill has today received Royal Assent. This means England has become the first country in the world to recognise those with #DownSyndrome under law, giving thousands of people in this country better access to the services they need. Great fun today with Project 21 and @StephenMcGann celebrating #WorldDownsSyndromeDay #ChickenDanceChallenge

Wonderful to meet many amazing people with Downโs National Down Syndrome Policy Group today. Downโs is not a barrier to potential, which is why I was proud to support Sir Liam Foxโs Down Syndrome Act last year and why our reforms to SEND provision for children matter so much. #WorldDownSyndromeDay2023

It was fantastic to mark #WorldDownSyndromeDay yesterday with National Down Syndrome Policy Group, celebrating the achievements of people with Down Syndrome and hearing more about how the landmark #DownSyndromeAct is changing lives. Really inspiring! #WDSD2023

Really detailed meeting with minister Maria Caulfield CBE and our Advisory Group. A very open discussion with significant commitments made by the minister who has taken away all the issues raised today for further work.

Glad to raise diagnostic overshadowing with minister Maria Caulfield CBE today 10DowningStreet and need for a designated consultant in every hospital to see every patient with a learning disability to make sure nothing is overlooked in assessing symptoms and other issues.

Highlight of the week was meeting these great young people in Parliament with Tom Pursglove National Down Syndrome Policy Group #WorldDownSyndromeDay2023
