True assisted dying is what hospices do; with care, compassion and palliative care. To have hundreds of beds out of use and to have state assisted suicide as a replacement is a dark moment for our country. bbc.com/news/articles/…

It's just a farce. Say one thing to get past second reading. Then drop the safeguard that got you over the line. Is a panel predisposed towards assisted dying an equivalent safeguard to the courts? Same 'capacity' concern used in US to remove a doctor from process 1/

We do not consider the views of people with Down syndrome and their families to be ‘noise’. Read our open letter about assisted dying, which outlines the concerns of 61 groups representing the interests of disabled people, here: ndspg.org/wp-content/upl…

Less than 10% of written evidence supports the #assisteddyingbill, unlike cherry-picked oral evidence. Please don't dismiss this as #NOISE, Kim Leadbeater MBE MP. Please hear doctors, nurses, disability rights activists, academics. Please listen. Sonia dhamelin Antonia Bance MP Liz "blue tick" Carr

The amendment states that the panel doesn’t have to meet the patient. Not even online. So how exactly is the psychiatrist going to verify capacity? And how exactly is the social worker going to verify absence of coercion? Are the 50 signatories aware of this?

The Committee has rejected another crucial #AssistedDying Bill amendment to protect individuals with Down syndrome. All proposals to safeguard those with LD, autism, & Down syndrome have been dismissed. We have been excluded from the process & our voices are being ignored.
