Over on Instagram, a student-run, pro strike account (students4strike) asked Acadia students: “Why do you support the faculty strike?” Here are some of their incredible, honest, insightful answers. They GET it. We miss you all & can’t wait to be back in the classroom. #Solidarity

Happy International Day of Girls and #WomenInScience ! I look forward to my university’s Board negotiating a fair agreement with AUFA so that we can focus on doing science instead of constantly fighting for quality in higher education.

Today marks Week 3 of AUFA strike. This press release says it all - the Board Team needs to return to the table & actually NEGOTIATE, not just give out ultimatums while sending emails to the students encouraging them to use this time to "relax". #AUFAStrike2022

Yesterday, Acadia students received an email stating that the Board’s team has been in “regular contact” with the conciliator to “find a resolution”. The statement suggests that the board has made meaningful attempts to negotiate with AUFA. This is false. 1/2

Being on my phone all day/night to manage AUFA Instagram account with @danlametti during the strike was not exactly my plan for Feb. but AUFA’s Communications team is 🔥 and I feel privileged to work with all of them 👇

This morning, the Kremlin approved a list of countries who have been “unfriendly” to Russia. In case you missed it, here is Yakko with a recap.

On this #IWD, I hope to see more women in leadership roles (starting at my own institution!) and continued solidarity to make positive changes in this currently very messed up world. Thank you to all the badass women in my life! 🙏

Slides are visual aids that assist your presentation. Anytime you put something on your slides, its primary purpose is to help the *audience*, not you. Nothing should distract from your verbal presentation, it should only enhance it. A mini-presentation on slide design. 1/

I was just asked to be on The National to discuss Roe and abortion...and then I found out it would be a panel with a "pro-life/anti-abortion" voice. I am livid and sent this reply. I couldn't care less if this means I will not be asked back to the CBC. It needed to be said.

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since we posted about the long, challenging journey we've been on to get to our 16th Collective Agreement, but we have some news! First, “THANK YOU!” to the students, faculty unions, CAUT/ACPPU & everyone who supported us along the way. 1/7

I recently came across data on who we spend our time with over the course of our lives. The insights are simultaneously inspiring and depressing. Here are 6 graphs everyone needs to see:

Higher Ed Leadership Tip. If you’re contemplating adding another senior admin position, ask who this is going to benefit? Who most needs the support in the organization? Often you’ll conclude that adding more staff or faculty support is better use of the budget.#missionacademic
