Looking forward to presenting and catching up with colleagues at CSSE - SCÉÉ hosted at George Brown College! Come join us on Tuesday June 3 for the opening plenary session for Canadian Association for Studies in Adults Education (CASAE)!

Upcoming presentations on Day 2, June 2 2025, at CSSE - SCÉÉ conference. You can learn more about the book and purchase a copy with a 20% discount code "CON2K25" at checkout valid until July 31, 2025 at: canadianscholars.ca/book/activist-…

Day 2 at CSSE - SCÉÉ was spiritually nourishing: presented twice, connected with friends, attended brilliant panels, and soaked in fresh perspectives. A highlight was connecting with CASJE Executive—an honour to serve as Member at Large & help grow the association to 240+ members.

NEW PUBLICATION Excited to share our new article titled "Clash of EDI & Anti-Woke-Ism: Reclaiming & Re-Storying EDI for Thriving Communities". Co-authored by Dr. Ardavan Eizadirad (he/him) and Dr. Sabreena Ghaffar-Siddiqui Read and join the dialogue: doi.org/10.1002/dvr2.7… We want dialogue, not debating!

The final day at CSSE - SCÉÉ reminded me that while presenting is important, the heart of the conference is the people. Reconnecting with friends, sharing laughs, learning each other's journeys, and cultivating community—that's the magic! Cheers to new memories!

I'll be interviewing Dr. Ardavan Eizadirad (he/him), assistant professor in the faculty of education at Wilfrid Laurier University this week. Ardavan writes about activist pedagogy in teacher education and is probably the only activist educator scholar in the country willing to talk to critics.

I am grateful to share I’m now a tenured Associate Professor! Thank you to all who have inspired, challenged, and supported me. Honoured to belong at Wilfrid Laurier UniversityEd @Laurier where I can show up as my full self! Dedicated to my family! This is for you. 🙏🏽 #Tenure #Gratitude

EDI vs anti-Woke-ism: Can we still talk across the divide? In this episode of #Disrupted, the host (Melanie Bennet (new)) and I unpack EDI backlash, identity politics, and woke-ism. We agreed and disagreed but had constructive dialogue. Check it out: youtu.be/a-X5_IOhlgo

Today, we hosted a Community Eye Clinic in partnership with the University of Waterloo's University of Waterloo’s School of Optometry & Vision Science, UWaterloo Optometry & Vision Science! 👓 We’re unlocking potential and clearing the view — so our youth can SEE how FAR they can go. 🚀💡 #YAAACE #SummerInstitute
