Jorge Rodriguez has had an excellent week presenting his research at the Iberoamerican Sympsoium on Turbellerian Biodiversity, part of the 33rd Brazilian Congress of Zoology. We also hear he's also got some exciting collaborations in the making, stay tuned #flattos #polyclads

Many papillated marine flatworms have been assigned to the species Thysanozoon brocchii throughout the years due to their brown colouration. Thanks to molecular data now we know the Australian one is a different species! #AllGeneticsSpeciesChallenge thanks Fernando Á. Fernández-Álvarez :)

I'm slow to make this tweet, but I finally submitted my masters thesis!!!! Thank you so much to my amazing Supervisors Jorge Rodriguez Peter Karuso and Jane Williamson and everyone who helped throughout the year!

My first first author paper is officially published!! This is chapter 1 of my master thesis covering the literature of natural products in polyclads. Thank you to supervisors Jane Williamson Jorge Rodriguez and Peter Karuso for making this possible. doi.org/10.3390/md1902…

My study species are flatworms of the Order Polycladida, they come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes aren't very flat! Here are individuals from the Genera Eurylepta, Pseudoceros, and Thysanozoon, all from NSW. #AMSA21contest AMSA-NSMSS 2024 Conference

A couple of years ago Marine Ecology Group did a field trip south in the middle of winter. Crossing the VIC border early morning, not only did I make them turn the car around but made them all get out for a photo at the sign. Look how happy they are #AMSA21Contest AMSA-NSMSS 2024 Conference

Congratulations to my students Jorge Rodriguez Monter and Ryan Nevatte for submitting their PhD theses today!! You're both awesome - it's been a pleasure joining you on your PhD journeys Marine Ecology Group Ryan Nevatte, PhD Jorge Rodriguez @MQBiology Science and Engineering @ MQU

Our new paper on the diversity of intertidal #flatworms in SE Australia. With 6 new species and 1 new genus, an opus of work by my PhD student Jorge Rodriguez, cosupervised by Pat Hutchings. biotaxa.org/Zootaxa/articl… Marine Ecology Group @MQBiology AMRI
