Thank you to our brilliant MA graduate Sue Wilkinson for sharing the in-depth research she undertook for her MA Dissertation on the Grasmere Dialect Plays this evening. Having the plays also brought to life for us with readings by members of the Lakeland Dialect Society was wonderful!

I'm appalled that the B-listed Africa House in Ardeer, one of the last surviving buildings of Glasgow's 1938 Empire Exhibition, has just been illegally demolished. No listed building consent. The owner has likely committed a criminal offence. They should be forced to rebuild it.
