A sunny afternoon visit to the patio at ElevenThree Brewing Company in Chardon, Ohio. Always tasty & unique beers at this family friendly brewery. They recently announced their expansion into the front property to double their space.

Brewery: Collision Bend (Cleveland, OH) Beer: Bread & Jam Style: fruited ale ABV: 4.3% Analysis: crisp & refreshing with a sudden sweet & tart grape jam with a bready malt finish.  Best Situation: treat yourself after a big quesadilla.

Brewery: Lexington Brewing (Lexington, KY) Beer: Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Style: cream ale ABV: 5.5% Analysis: sweat vanilla at the sip with a crisp follow & a slight bourbon aftertaste.  Best Situation: when you want the flavor without the ABV.

Brewery: Brooklyn Brewery (Brooklyn, NY) Beer: Brooklyn Brown Style: brown ale ABV: 5.6% Analysis: a touch of I'm sweet caramel with a roasty malt follow for a classic finish. Best Situation: stay up late & close out the night with this simple but delicious brew.

Brewery: Eleventhree (Chardon, OH) Beer: Eastside Motel Style: IPA ABV: 7.5% Analysis: bitter hops at the start with a rich & flavorful malt & darkness still tingling with a strong mouthfeel & citrus twist. Best Situation: first beer after dinner to enjoy with the movie.

Brewery: Saugatuck (Saugatuck, MI) Beer: Peach Lemonade Shandy Style: shandy ABV: 5% Analysis: mildly sweet lemons with a pleasing malt backbone that transitions into a peachy aftertaste.  Best Situation: when the sun is on its way down.

Brewery: Southern Tier (Cleveland, OH) Beer: Strawberry Shortcake Style: strong ale ABV: 8.6% Analysis: sweet & creamy strawberry with thick vanilla undertones that shifts to a malty & lip-sticking conclusion. Best Situation: best enjoyed after a light dinner for dessert.

Brewery: Duclaw (Baltimore, MD) Beer: Sweet Baby Banana Style: porter ABV: 6.2% Analysis: strong, rich, & tasteful malt on contact with a long-lasting banana aftertaste & a bitter coffee linger.  Best Situation: after the party retires.

A wonderful dinner, pint, & flight at Fourscore Beer Company in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. A variety of beer styles, cool merch, & many options to mix & match to-go cans. Cheers!
