Problematic eating behaviors & cognitions (e.g. weight & shape concerns) are associated w/ BMI at various timepoints post-bariatric surgery, highlighting the importance of ongoing assessment & early intervention.Fantastic presentation by my colleague, Leslie Heinberg PhD 👏 #asmbs2022

Very informative talk by Dr. Kasey Goodpaster on clinical considerations of cannabis use in bariatric surgery. More research & discussion is needed in this area to provide the best care for our patients. Thank you for presenting & sharing this information! #asmbs2022

The Cleveland Clinic is so well-represented at #asmbs2022! Kudos to the whole BMI team for their important research and engaging presentations!

Helpful and engaging talk by Beth Czerwony sharing her experience co-hosting virtual support groups with Dr. Nini Peterson at Cleveland Clinic. They call it “food for thought.” Beth (the RD) is the food, and Nini (the psychologist) is the thought 😁🍎💭 #asmbs2022

The outstanding Cleveland Clinic team in Dallas for the ASMBS annual meeting. #ASMBS2022 Matthew Kroh, MD Ali Aminian Rickesha L. Wilson, MD Leslie Heinberg PhD Dr. Kasey Goodpaster Juan Barajas-Gamboa

Loved hearing the revision patient perspective from Amber Huett-Garcia. She reminded us & the “biggest threat to care is bias” and “don’t assume it’s a knowledge gap” when pts experience weight reoccurrence. Therapy is so helpful in helping pts to overcome internal barriers. #ASMBS2023

Thank you, Leslie Heinberg PhD for doing all the legwork of researching these psychological testing measures! Measures that include validity/response style scales are particularly useful in this population. #ASMBS2023

MBS patients who were using marijuana at least weekly post-op had ⬆️ anxiety, binge eating, night eating, graze eating, and eating in response to depression. Thank you Lisa Miller-Matero, PhD for doing research on this hot topic! #ASMBS2023
