It was a short but sweet #GAConf23 for me. But completely agree with Decolonising Geography about the contributions I saw in-person and virtually. Already looking forward to #GAConf24. Big thanks and well done to Alastair Owens and Geographical Association staff and volunteers

Sivanandan was a remarkable scholar-activist. Brilliant perspectives on anti-racist praxis. Looking forward to listening to this podcast. Big thanks to Twm Carnabwth in Decolonising Geography for flagging.

👇👇👇This is a great project on Black geographies of home - I am not just saying that because I am fortunate enough to be one of Simi's supervisors 😝 Please do get in touch with Simi if you fit for the profile to be a participant.

I'm logging off. I'm getting angrier by the minute. Union leaders celebrating this pay rise should be ashamed of themselves and it shows they or loved ones have never gone through an immigration process so can never fully understand the violence this inflicts upon us migrants.

Still very upset about the news. While unions don't have a control over where pay increase comes they should in the loudest sense condemn this government move. Union leadership must come out and publicly reject any pay rise which sows division among the labour movement.

All migrants, including striking university staff, will bear the burden of these costs. Their fees & their dependents will double. Many unis do not reimburse the costs. It will force people out of the country and certainly off the picket lines. The proposal must be challenged!

Took a break from Twitter and this was one of the first notifications that popped up when I returned 😃 A big thanks to the organisers and all involved for what was a really thought provoking and inspirational session

If you wonder why people keep making comments like this about Diane Abbott, it's because the political and media class have normalised her abuse. Even way this article is written shows that. 1/3 theguardian.com/politics/2024/…

The events unfolding in Haiti are heartbreaking. Love and solidarity to those suffering and I pray the revolutionary ethos and values of 1804 return to enable liberation for all Haitians. Email me if you would like to create educational resources on Haiti (past and present).
