Agnes Ayton 💙 And in old age psychiatry we work closely with our patients’ GPs as well as Geriatric Medicine and Neurology colleagues. But we are doctors and shouldn’t delegate our duty to provide trained and competent medical care to unqualified technicians.

Luke Mordecai Either we need those difficult and rigorous exams plus 7+ years of rotational training to practice anaesthesia, or we don’t. It’s very hard to take our college leadership seriously when they appear hellbent on holding us, but not others, to those standards.

Lucy B The NHS Whistleblower PA Stephen Nash Issue will be the 'physio does ACP course and then put on an SHO rota somewhere' group - as the ACP qual just gets used as a de facto pseudo-medical conversion course without any of the regulatory oversight, which then would continue into practice as AP elements unregulated.

Lucy B The NHS Whistleblower PA Stephen Nash Being a 'senior physio' doesn't qualify anyone yo work in a doctor's role. This shouldn't need to be said, it's so obvious.

Consistently exposed to #COVID without adequate PPE, many doctors have been left navigating the impact of Long Covid. A motion passed at #BMAARM25 calls for the condition to be recognised as an occupational disease for healthcare workers. Read more: thedoctor.bma.org.uk/articles/life-…

Martin Wrigley MP As many MPs pointed out, general practice continues to be one of the most financially efficient parts of the NHS, as recognised by the Darzi review. Investing in primary care leads to better health outcomes and delivers value for money to the NHS, the economy and society. 2/5

Martin Wrigley MP Something that would totally undermine the Government’s aspirations to shift more care into the community and ‘bring back the family doctor’. rcgp.org.uk/News/general-p… 4/5

Martin Wrigley MP We know from recent polling that the highest priority for the public is improving access to general practice. We need to have these rumours addressed as a matter of urgency and reassurance that funding will follow the patient, as we are hoping and have been planning for. 5/5

If Gill Walton, Royal College of Midwives 💙 and every other clinician already knows what is required, why is any review needed at all? More importantly, why haven’t you been implementing them as a body responsible for driving standards in Maternity? 1/

Lucy B The NHS Whistleblower PA Stephen Nash I think practically it's going to be a nightmare and I really hope we don't see inter-union bickering, but I don't trust regulators to deal with this. Someone needs to work out where the line between 'doctor-ing' and 'advanced practice physiotherapist-ing' sits, for each ACP type

Professor Philip Banfield 💙 is a giant among men. Truly a legend. Thank you for your leadership.
