Our 1st keynote is Joe Colella Joseph M Colella, Director of Child Passenger Safety @jpma, part of the Society of Automotive Engineers child restraint committee, editorial board for Safe Ride News, & Safe Kids in Automated Vehicles Alliance SKAVA (co-leads). #InjuryFree2023

Mr. Colella has been doing #childpassenger safety work for 30+ yrs. In 2021, >136,000 children 14 and under were injured. 863 died. ~40% of these children were unrestrained. These numbers are WORSE than 2020 (>119,000 injured/763 deaths).

Kristyn Jeffries, MD, MPH of Arkansas Children’s Injury Prevention Center & Kathy Monroe of ChildrensAL reviewed 258 abstracts presented over the past 7 years at the Injury Free Annual Conference to see what abstracts resulted in a published paper (~50%). #InjuryFree2023
