Grateful to have led the inclusion of the first discussion of exercise pathophysiology and contraindications/prescription for #MECFS in this leading global resource. Thank you, American College of Sports Medicine. It’s another step toward bringing this condition out of the shadows and promoting safe care.

#Runner spotlight 🏃 Seamus is running the TCS London Marathon for LCK in just 12 days & he is half way to his target! Here’s what he has to say👇 “Running the #LondonMarathon has been a long-held dream, but this year, it means so much more. It’s an opportunity to raise vital funds

It’s shocking that sick children have to travel to find appropriate healthcare - and this option is only available to those with resources. 🙏 to BBC South West for sharing Molly’s story today. Please sign up to our webinar with Long Covid Support to hear more about #ClosingClinics 👇

Excited to share a #LongCOVID community win due to YOUR ADVOCACY! Long COVID researchers will now be able to apply to a $150million US govt CDMRP research program! Please tag in any researchers, to kick off: PolyBio Amy Proal, PhD Putrino Lab Prof. Akiko Iwasaki Michael Peluso, MD

A big day for team ERASE-LC Well done to the University of Derby and University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS FT teams!! 👏👏👏

A new preprint from our University of Derby x Stellenbosch University Long COVID research team has now been published. Findings suggest that exercise may worsen symptoms in Long COVID due to microclot fragmentation. [link to preprint]: researchsquare.com/article/rs-671…

A productive and enjoyable 5 weeks with the research team at Stellenbosch University in 2024 has culminated in the below publication. We hope this helps add to the pathophysiological understanding of #LongCovid #research

Important preprint on the effect of exs upon microclots. When patients with LC describe how exercise & activity makes them feel worse (PESE) clinicians need to listen. Thank you to everyone involved. tern Long COVID Physio @OT_Skiff/Helen Cathy Thomson Long Covid Kids / [email protected]

Exercise-induced Changes in Microclotting and Cytokine Levels Point to Vascular Injury and Inflammation in People with Long COVID | Research Square Important preprint work from our Team Clots: Mark Faghy and Resia Pretorius researchsquare.com/article/rs-671…

Thrilled to collaborate with Resia Pretorius and the team from Stellenbosch University This is a novel and important contribution to the #longcovid literature led by Callum Thomas and University of Derby 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Excellent work from Callum Thomas showing that repeated submaxinal intensity exercise (below anaerobic threshold) induces changes in the size of microclots, which is also associated with changes in pro and anti inflammatory cytokines! Resia Pretorius Stellenbosch University Prof Doug Kell CBE #FBPE #FBPA🔶🇪🇺

This is brilliant work from TeamClots colleagues Resia Pretorius & Mark Faghy.Again yet another paper clearly demonstrating pathobiological changes in PEM. The fact that some few individuals still believe PEM in LC &ME can be treated by reframing illness beliefs beggars belief

And just like that we have completed the last patient visit in Derby for ERASE-LC A patient-led study with University of Derby University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS FT Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) and University of Exeter seeking to help people with #LongCovid Thanks to everyone, especially the participants who gave so much to this work.

Good coverage or work Callum Thomas in collaboration with Resia Pretorius and Prof Doug Kell CBE #FBPE #FBPA🔶🇪🇺!! Thanks Dr. Jennifer Curtin 🙌 University of Derby
