Cardiogenic Shock is the frontier in ACS: We are getting there, but need a paradigm shift from pure mechanical to a combined biological and interventional approach - cardiometabolic unloading of the left ventricule appears to road to success - see academic.oup.com/eurheartj/adva…

Join us at #ESC2024. I feel very privileged to present on the imaging data of the REVIVED-BCIS2 trial. Correlation between CMR and echocardiography in guiding ICD therapy for ICM.

ESC guidelines for PCI in severe LV impairment changed from 2a LoE C (should be done in most patients, based on consensus) to 2b LoE B (may be done in selected patients, based on randomised data).#ESCCongress 🙏🏽REVIVED investigators for providing the supporting evidence

In an analysis of REVIVED-BCIS2, #PCI did not improve hierarchical composite of death, HHF, & health status at 2 yrs, although did improve short-term KCCQ-OSS (not sustained). PCI should not be recommended to improve long-term health status. bit.ly/3ZH6sBJ #JACCHF

The most shocking trial in modern cardiology continues to find no signal of PCI benefit, despite enrolling pts most likely to benefit. How the “clogged pipe” frame of thinking persists despite such evidence amazes me.

The under-diagnosis of #HFpEF is a clinical problem. This study suggests there's an enhanced issue in Black pts w/ HFpEF, as predictive diagnostic systems may be biased in favor of the comorbidity patterns more prevalent in White pts w/ HFpEF bit.ly/3XAlIO6

How should we interpret STICH in the REVIVED era? Did improving OMT between the trials move the goalposts? Can we compare CABG to PCI? The first IPD analysis of randomised data in ischaemic LVSD out today in EHJ Editor-in-Chief. academic.oup.com/eurheartj/adva…

Proud to have published the first IPD analysis of REVIVED and STICH in European Society of Cardiology Journals EHJ Editor-in-Chief. We test revascularisation but OMT moves the goalposts! Great experience with great collaborators from around the world Divaka Perera BCIS-4 Trial Mark Petrie
