Time to #EmbraceEquity & close the gap in women’s health care and research! hivnet.ubc.ca/news/2022/03/c… This #InternationalWomensDay, we'd like to highlight the work of several CTN Investigators with the BCC3 Study - HIV Health, Equity, & Aging Research project to improve healthy aging for women living with HIV!





#BCC3 CAB Our MD/PhD trainee Shayda Swann has been investigating hormone levels and her analyses have found evidence of lower testosterone levels in women living with HIV, compared to HIV-negative women. Next, she’ll be looking at whether this impacts key women's health outcomes!


#BCC3 CAB: Our team has been doing some qualitative work too! Led by Elizabeth King , we have held focus groups to understand the perceptions of menopause & menopausal treatments among women living with HIV. From these, three main conclusions have emerged (see next slide)
