After building embryoids for 10 years, we succeeded in generating structures with brains, hearts, neural tubes, somites with a yolk sac. Both original submissions using two different approaches are on BioRxiv, to be published soon. eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%…

What is up with the narrative that if you have kids in your 30s or 40s, you will be too old and decrepit to take care of them? If this is the case for you, the issue is not about taking care of your kids, but you need to reexamine how you’re taking care of yourself!

I get that people say exposure is good for the Geroscience field, but is this really what it’s become? The real science is getting drowned out by all the noise. This isn’t how we attract talent. It’s how we attract opportunists (not specifically referring to the OP or Julie)

Is Elon seriously supporting the idea to defund an academic institution because the individual US citizens who work there have a propensity to back the opposition?

Ran my first Boston Marathon yesterday. 🦄 Wasn’t close to the race I wanted (felt dull and sore from the start), but what an experience. More reason to come back again next year I guess. 3:19:08 (7:36/mile)

The biggest obstacle to curing diseases w/ AI is data! Quality & quantity. Bio data pales in comparison to NLP or comp vision. Also, due to scientific fads, existing data likely captures only a sliver of possible info/signal in biology. Data is the key to BioXAI impact!

Why do the ‘Hallmarks of Aging’ completely ignore the hierarchy of biological systems? This is equating things that aren’t even on the same scale and it makes no sense as a conceptual grouping of phenomena 🤔
