Ford government wants to hide older long-term care inspection reports, limiting public access to just 3 yrs of data. This would shield bad actors from accountability and make it harder for families to choose safe care. Transparency shouldn't have an expiration date. #ONpoli

Al Jazeera has published the names of every journalist killed since Oct 7th. 231 Palestinian journalists have been slaughtered in Gaza. A whole generation of reporters wiped out while many of their colleagues in the West simply shrugged.

"This proposed regulation will further endanger our most vulnerable seniors living in LTC. Removing access to evidentiary safeguards that provide a holistic account of how LTC homes operate in Ontario only shields bad actors" - crucial Op-Ed by Dr.VivianS thestar.com/opinion/contri…

On June 10, 2025, healthcare workers worldwide 🌍 take the #Pledge4Humanity to demand an end to war crimes and mass atrocities in G@za. 🚨 Tanks encircled N@ss3r Hospital, bombing civilians indiscriminately. 🚨 People are being shot at aid sites as they seek food under siege

Cherry-picking "easy" cases for for-profit urgent care centres robs the ER of the depth and breadth of cases making work enjoyable. I would go mental if all I did was high-acuity medicine. You need a laceration or injured ankle to stay sane and round out your practise. - 5/9

If the authors want to "lighten the pressure on the regular hospital ERs" they'd realize the #1 problem is admitted patients with no where to go - and not the minor emergencies that absolutely 100% do not clog up ERs. The authors have it all wrong in a drive to privatize. - 6/9

The snake's skin is shed when the authors finally say this - "These clinics are generally privately owned by the healthcare providers that operate them, and can either be affiliated with larger hospitals, or fully independent" - you knew it was coming. -7/9

"They may be staffed by private doctors, or by dual-practising doctors who also work in the public system" - now we see the real motivation of the authors - to weaken our publicly funded system and generate profit for investors and profiteers. - 8/9

I appreciate the Montreal Economic Institute is out to make money for investors and capitalists but their foray into ER healthcare shows their lack of basic understanding and is untimely when Canadians more than ever, want to stand unified. And not Americanized. - 9/9

Canada has finally imposed sanctions on Itamar Ben-Gvir (Israel's Minister of National Security) and Bezalel Smotrich (Israel's Minister of Finance). This was only possible because of mass organizing in solidarity with Gaza. Here is why we need to keep the pressure on. 🧵 1/8

The imposition of these sanctions is an important victory - the result of 600 days of mobilizing and disrupting the Canadian state on many fronts. But far more must be done to end Canadian complicity and hold Israeli officials accountable. The struggle continues. 8/8

"Canada joins allies in sanctioning 2 Israeli ministers for Gaza comments" Essentially meaningless gesture. Canada continues to supply arms used to kill people in Gaza, give favoured trade status to goods from the Israeli-occupied territories. globalnews.ca/news/11230792/…

Meaningless. Avoids real consequences. 🇨🇦 needs to: - impose a two-way arms embargo - suspend Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement - vigorously support ICC & ICJ - prosecute Israeli war criminals in 🇨🇦 - stop fake charities sending millions to support apartheid and genocide.
