It was a privilege to speak at the event in Parliament to mark 10 years since the tragic and senseless killing of Cecil the Lion. As a vet & Shadow DEFRA Minister, I will continue to support efforts to prohibit the awful practice of obtaining and importing hunting trophies.

🏥Great to be at #WhippsCrossHospital for a site visit, a meeting with senior leadership & an update on the hospital’s redevelopment. I will keep pressing the Labour Govt to accelerate the project so my constituents & surrounding areas have access to the new hospital they need.

I, and my constituency neighbour Alex Burghart MP, along with Epping Forest DC , have called on the Government to immediately close both asylum hotels in Epping Forest District. Alex and I have requested an urgent meeting with the Home Secretary to discuss this vital issue.

The anxiety of navigating life with secondary breast cancer should not be compounded by the denial of life-extending medication. I am grateful to Breast Cancer Now for highlighting this issue & the work that needs to be done to support those living with secondary breast cancer.

Out today in #Epping with Essex Police . I am hugely grateful for their swift & ongoing action regarding the deeply troubling events here & for their increased presence & patrols to reassure our community at this time. I urge folk to follow the information from Essex Police

This is completely unacceptable. Police put themselves in harm's way to keep us safe. People have the right to peacefully protest but these violent scenes are not us, not Epping, not what we stand for. I urge folk to listen to the advice of the police while we work to sort this.
