Due to escalation of the conflict in #Yemen thousands of people are forced to flee their homes. They have to leave their lives behind with nowhere to go.

Forced displacement due to the conflict in #Yemen aggravates the already deteriorated health situation. The health risks IDPs face are manifold due to the lack of adequate water and sanitation services #YemenCantWait

Attacks on health facilities and ambulances are unacceptable under International Humanitarian Law. The international community must raise its voice to condemn such atrocities. We are here to help the most vulnerable. #NotATarget #YemenCantWait #Yemen

Day 1 of the #OCV campaign that successfully started in #Ibb and #Hudaydah. It was well-received by the people. We congratulate and encourage the 3,300 HCWs in the field and urge all parties to adhere to days of tranquility 4-6 Aug to achieve the highest possible coverage #Yemen

I am extremely saddened by what happened in Saada. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones. WHO has already deployed emergency supplies and is ready to support the victims with ambulances and referral and trauma care. The attack on civilians is not acceptable. #Yemen

These 10 000 dialysis sessions will make a huge difference in the lives of Yemenis living with renal failure. I am grateful to all WHO health partners who made this all possible. Thank you to the local health authorities and WHO staff in Aden for your commitment. #YemenCantWait

I congratulate the heroic WHO staff in #Hudaydah as well as the health care workers who risk their lives daily, amidst the conflict, to ensure that they are helping the people who need it most. They are the true heroes in all this. #NotATarget #YemenCantWait

In the past 4 weeks, 4 health facilities and hospitals have been attacked, including 2 ambulances. This is unacceptable and with one voice we need to say that we are #NotATarget facebook.com/WHOYemen/video…

The recent attacks on 2 hospitals in #Taiz, Al Jamhouri and Al Thawra and before this the Al Thawra and the Lab in #Hudaydah - 4 sites in 4 weeks-IS UNACCEPTABLE. We need to shout with one voice that these hospitals, HCWs and civilians are #NotATarget #YemenCantWait

I am again shocked and extremely saddened after learning of the attack in Ad Durayhimi. Innocent lives were lost once again. We call upon both parties to adhere to International Humanitarian Law because children, women, men, all human life should never BE A TARGET. #Yemen

Innocent civilians have died in the Ad Durayhimi attack. These attacks like Saada, are growing more frequent and are a gross violation of International Humanitarian Law. WHO is prepared to support the hospitals in caring for those injured #YemenCantWait #NotATarget

WHO is doing all what possible in this very difficult time of #Yemen to support meeting acute & chronic health needs of the people across the country. Only peace will allow us to work together to rebuild the health system. We urge all parties to the conflict to stop this war.

I would like to thank private sector companies that responded positively to my appeal of 28 June for a subsidize price of renal dialysis medical supplies, which allowed us to place 600,000 sessions' medical supplies for the 5200 renal dialysis patients across all #Yemen.

The smile of Bisha, 11 years old patient in dialysis, is special to me. We need to do more for #children like her to alleviate their suffering and give hope of normal life, we need to support hospitals in #Yemen with dialysis supplies, and to resume kidney transplant capacities.

Thanks to all colleagues for having worked together to support health services in #Yemen. I have finished my mandate as WHO Rep yesterday and happy that in my last day the 2nd round of the cholera vaccination campaign started successfully in the same 3 districts covered last Aug.

I would like to thank & congratulate the WHO team that I had the privilege to lead over last 21 months. Big thanks to those who made the final draft of the publication “faces of #Yemen forgotten war” possible, highlighting the human suffering & advocating for peace in Yemen.
