The cruelty here - being arrested for booking travel for someone consenting to a legal procedure in another country, for leaving their own medication within arm's reach, for being unable to withstand being asked again by a loved one to help them die. The law isn't fit for purpose

In our research on anti-abortion activism, Dr Pam Lowe and I argue that all forms of activism at clinic sites are problematic. Prayer should not be given special treatment independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n…

Abortion bans kill another woman. On the day of her baby shower, Nevaeh Crain went to the ER bleeding & feverish. She was diagnosed with sepsis, a deadly infection - but her fetus still had a heart beat. She was sent home. After her 3rd ER visit, she died. propublica.org/article/nevaeh…

I hope these recomendations are adopted quickly. The current rules do nothing to support #breastfeeding and instead risk the health of babies in poorer households. #FedIsBest bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Porsha Ngumezi should be alive today, but she was denied standard miscarriage care at a #Texas hospital. Porsha is the fifth woman documented so far that has died because of abortion bans and restrictions. We cannot normalize this horrifying reality. gu.tt/3V2r8R9

A pleasure to address the rally for choice at the end of life in Parliament Square today. Hoping and working for MPs to do the right thing to meet the compassionate aspirations of the public.

Voting against this bill is not caring, its about forcing people to die in horrible circumstances, when they don't want to do this. Pallative care does not and can not make some deaths less awful. It is utterly horrific that anyone supports this. #DignityInDying

And it also means, where clinically suitable, that people can avoid having an ultrasound, that for some can be a particularly negative and distressing part of abortion care. As shown from this study by Rebecca Blaylock (she/her) Patricia Lohr Lesley Hoggart Dr Pam Lowe srh.bmj.com/content/50/3/1…

It is with sadness that I have had to tender my resignation as Minister for International Development and for Women and Equalities. While I disagree with the ODA decision, I continue to support the government and its determination to deliver the change our country needs.
