Nice surprise the other day. Some new editions of my latest book. I have a spare of each of these - free to a good home if you pay the postage.

Just finished a big upload of edited litter beetle photos to Flickr. This includes most of the pselaphines I collected at Cuyabeno (in the Amazon) and at a couple of cloud forest sites in Tungurahua. So many beautiful species, virtually all new. flickr.com/photos/1834800…

In my new book, The Urban Naturalist, I talk about inspiring community scientists like Graham Moates, who used his plastic cleanups to discover that 3 million mammals every year die inside discarded bottles and cans. His paper: lnkd.in/er8u49s8

Well pleased to find this yesterday. The extraordinary Clown Beetle, Hololepta plana. Five of them under bark that was extremely wet. They glide beneath the bark in this strange, 2-dimensional world, hunting fly larvae.
